It’s summertime, so we have chosen to publish five manuscript pages that were either produced in France, or are today available there, or both. For those who do not spend their holidays in France, these manuscripts can now be visited at Capitularia at least. They are:
In addition, we took the opportunity of our editorial meeting in Berlin at the start of the year to complete the transcription of pre-814 capitularies in five manuscripts of the Staatsbibliothek. Our colleague Grigorii Borisov subsequently checked any remaining unclear passages in the manuscripts themselves. These are the five newly completed cases:
Besides other pieces, the new transcriptions offer two more versions of BK 39, Charlemagne’s most often copied capitulary, Capitularia now also features the unique transmissions of BK 35, BK 104 c. 4-6 and Mordek no. 8 from the famous Ghaerbald-collection in Berlin, Lat. fol. 626.
