Freshly released

Orange is the new Spring Green!

We are proud to announce a double bill of publications by our two former colleagues, Dominik Trump and Dominik Leyendecker:

In his PhD, “Unfreiheit und Recht. Die servi in den karolingischen Kapitularien (742-840)”, Dominik Leyendecker studies the role of unfree people in capitulary legislation, and reaches some unexpected conclusions with regard to the so-called Carolingian “Unfreienpolitik”.

The conference volume jointly edited by Dominik Trump and Dominik Leyendecker “Rechtshandschriften des frühen Mittelalters” contains the papers from an international workshop on (secular and canonical) legal manuscripts from the 8th to the 11th century, which the two editors had organised in Cologne in 2023.

Among the articles, three are by members of the Capitularia project:

Britta Mischke, Zerpflückt und durch einen “skrupellosen Transmitter” entstellt. Die Fragmente der italienischen “Collectio Thuana” (S. 17-39, zur Handschrift Paris Lat. 4613)

Sören Kaschke, Munich, Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Clm 3853 and the Collectio Augustana. Nachleben of Carolingian Legal Texts in the 10th Century (S. 41-54, zur Handschrift München Lat. 3853)

Daniela Schulz, Never judge a Book by its Cover. Einige Beobachtungen zu Cod. Guelf. 50.2 Aug. 4° (S. 55-79, zur Handschrift Wolfenbüttel Cod. Guelf. 50.2 Aug. 4°)
